The Haunted Museum
Las Vegas, Nevada
The Haunted Museum is located in Las Vegas, Nevada. It houses a collection of oddities and haunted objects collected by Zak Bagans, the host of Ghost Adventures. It's located in a 1930's mansion that was originally owned by a prominent businessman. Spirits of family members who had passed, were said to remain and terrorize the occupants. In the 1970's the home's basement was used for dark rituals.
There are hundreds of terrifying possessions, visitors can see the van in which Dr. Jack Kevokian ended the suffering of terminally ill patients and get a close-up look at Lugosi's Mirror and the Devil's Rocking Chair.
I visited The Haunted Museum in July of 2022 with my 16 year old and my mother. You will be asked to sign a waiver prior to entering. We now know why, my 16 year old actually passed out!
Below the first- hand account of what occurred.
"While waiting in the line for Zak Bagans Haunted Museum I felt fine, I was laughing and excited but that all changed shortly after. When we entered the museum the energy definitely felt different. While in the first room everything was fine and I was just observing the different dolls and objects around the room. I then went into the doll closet which also felt fine but throughout the whole museum you could definitely feel a difference in energy. The next couple rooms also felt normal and I just observed the different objects Zak has in his museum.
The first significant thing I remember was the temperature change in the tunnel. Part of one of the RIP exclusive features is being able to go through a small completely black crawl space. In this crawl space I distinctly remember it being slightly colder than the rest of the house. Later on however my two other family members denied a temperature change in any part of the house whatsoever. The room the crawl space led into had marionettes as well as other dolls and objects. I remember liking this room because I distinctively like clowns and there were some clown-like dolls in this room.
The next room is where things took a turn for the worse. This room had a bed and a mirror that were said to be haunted. The mirror had been said to have figures in it. Whereas the bed was where Dennis Hof died and Lamar Odom overdosed. At this point I believe the house itself was starting to take its toll on me. I also distinctly remember being cold in this room and was confused as to why only some of the rooms seemed to be colder. Once again both of my family members denied it being cold anywhere in the house. After about 5 minutes of our tour guide talking about and explaining this room I begin to see black dots in my vision. I turn toward my mother and take a step closer to her but I assume my vision will go back to normal. Slowly it gets worse and eventually everything is completely black so I turn to my mother and tell her I can’t see, I can’t see. She asks if I’m ok and I say no and that is the last bit of consciousness I have before passing out. I feel myself fall to the floor but I'm completely unconscious for a few minutes.
I start to regain some consciousness and I feel my mother move my hair out of my face to feel my head but I am still unable to come to. This is when I first open my eyes again from being out. I then hear someone, who I later find out was the manager, say to get a wheelchair. After that I’m slowly coming back, still unable to talk or focus on anything. My mother then helps me stand on very shaky legs and we all walk out of the museum. The second I get outside everything starts coming back and I immediately start feeling better. I sit on a bench and drink water and then feel completely fine as if I hadn’t passed out 10 minutes prior. I then want to go back on the tour. The security guy waiting with us says that I am able to go back on the tour when I feel as though I am able. I assure my mother, and grandma I’m ok and want to go back on the tour. They agree and tell me to tell them if I feel bad once again. When we met back up with our tour guide she seemed wary and concerned. I made a joke about me trying not to pass out again but she didn’t seem to find it funny. This and us researching later led me to believe people don’t faint at the museum often.
The first room we get back to was Jack Kavorkian’s van he used to preform some of his assisted suicides. This room felt normal but was very creepy and we weren’t in it very long. The next room is what I called the serial killer. This room contained things owned by Ted Bundy, Pogo the clown, and Charles Manson. This room I started to not feel well again. I made it through the room but I started breathing heavily purposefully to try to make sure I wouldn’t pass out from lack of oxygen. After leaving this room we moved where the basement was located. I chose to not go down the basement because I wasn’t feeling well. At this time I informed my mother and grandmother I wasn’t feeling well again. After my mother went into the basement we decided it would be best to leave the museum to ensure I didn’t pass out once again.
After we left, about 30 minutes later, I began to get a very bad migraine. I do believe that all of these occurrences were because of the sheer amount of paranormal activity and energy in that house. That being said I was greatly disappointed to not be able to see the rest of what the museum had to offer. I would definitely go again and I recommend anyone to go and see for themselves what I felt first hand."
Tom Devlin's Monster Museum Boulder City, Nevada
If you happen to be driving through Boulder City on the way to Las Vegas or visiting the Hoover Dam, be sure to stop by Tom Devlin's Monster Museum.
Their mission is to preserve the art and history of special makeup effects. The museum is a gallery for Tom Devlin's art including screen used props, creature suits and even some custom pieces.
I had a chance to visit in July of 2022 and this Monster Museum did not disappoint. We happened to be in the museum by ourselves and it was a little eerie wondering if any of these incredible creations was a person in disguise who might just jump out at you. I would certainly recommend a visit!
