Great-Grandma Saves the Day

I'll start by telling you that my great grandmother was a in her 90's when she passed away. I was the 5th grade. She immigrated from Norway in the 20's and had only one son, my grandfather. She lived with him in California when from the time I can remember until she passed away. She still couldn't pronounce her "j's" and called me Yenny. She was a warm comforting grandmother and she embodied all the best qualities of a grandmother. Although she had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she told me I was her favorite and I choose to believe that.
Late one night when I was about 20, so many years after she had passed, I was driving home from my boyfriends house. The drive was about 30 miles or so and all freeway. I was on the freeway and it was pretty empty except for a car on either side of me. I had made this drive many times before, but this time I was struggling to stay awake. My eyes felt heavy and my blinks were starting to grow longer. Then all of the sudden, I saw someone in the road. I slammed on the breaks to see my grandmother in the road in front of me with her white hair and light blue house dress. By the time my car came to a stop, she was gone. Was it my eyes playing tricks on me? I didn't know. But thank god it was so early and the road was empty because I came to a complete stop on the freeway. I started driving again and now the two cars that were flanking either side of me were far ahead but I could still see their tale lights. We were coming up to a turn onto the another freeway and as the other two cars, rounded the turn, they collided causing one for the cars to flip over the over pass. If I had not stopped on the freeway, I would have been right in the middle of that crash. I choose to believe that my grandmother intervened that night to save my life.
Things Kids Say

Both of my grandfathers (my mother's father and step-father) passed away before my daughter was 3. They are both buried in the same cemetery, so my family is pretty familiar with this location. My mother was visiting the cemetery and had brought my then 3 year old daughter along, something she had done before. It was a seemingly normal visit, my mother drove into the cemetery and parked on the road near my grandfather's grave. They walked over for their visit, added the new flowers and returned to her car as the normally would. This time was different however, as my mother began to drive along the road to leave the cemetery my daughter screamed, "Not that way Grandma, Not that way!" My daughter would not relent, she cried and begged until my Mom turned the car around and drove the other direction. Later she explained that she had seen two children in the road and it was as if my Mom was going to run them over. But there were no children in the road, there was no one else in the cemetery at all at the time. Upon further investigation on our next visit, the location in which my daughter claimed to see children in the road was right beside the children's corner in the cemetery. Although, she returned to the cemetery many times since then, she has never claimed to see them again.
Suicide Siren
Terror Trader, Chandler Arizona, 6/28/2022 - Occurred 1951
This vintage phonograph, known as the Suicide Siren, has been deemed cursed by the Catholic Church.
The first recorded ownership of this record player was in Ithaca New York, back in 1951 after a distraught mother sent her only son off to fight in the Korean War. Four days after this departure, she was found hung from a stair bannister... the record player - was still spinning beneath her.
The phonograph was then passed onto her sister, who died after poisoning herself a month after ownership and then eventually inherited by her niece, who tragically jumped out a 4th story window in New York City. At the discovery of each of these women's deaths, a record titled "Blue Velver" was found spinning in their homes, proving the song was playing during their suicides.
Under suspicion, the phonograph was eventually given to a Catholic Church in Bronx, New York in the late 1950's. The parish priest sensed negative energy and decided to securely lock the player in the basement. Two years later, most of the Church burnt down during the Easter holiday...but the record player - remained intact.
It was locked in a state storage facility until being auctioned off in 1973, where it was purchased by a named Louis Swift from Camden, New Jersey. He knew of its sinister history and made sure to remove the needle from the tone arm, so the song will never be played again. Mr. Swift died peacefully in 2017 at the age of 83 and this phonograph was purchased from his estate. It is unclear if the record player or the record itself is cursed, but the family has been promised that the needle will never be replaced.
This phonograph currently resides at the Terror Trader in Chandler Arizona.
